Wings of Fire: Revenant - Prologue
None of this was real. Darkstalker knew his mother was dead. He had known that first time he saw her form on the enchanted map travel into the Ice Kingdom and grow still. She was gone. That was why the IceWings had to pay. That was why Arctic had, had to die. His mother had been taken away from him, and it wasn't fair. Except now she was here, unchanged, as though his last memory of her had been plucked from his mind and made real. Her eyes shone with all the love she still had for him, and when she put her talons on his he knew she could be no one but his mother. He needed her to hold him, to tell him it was going to be all right, to tell him that he wasn't evil and he hadn't lost his soul. But she didn't. Not really. Darkstalker thought back to the soul reader, and the tiny grains of black sand showing just how much goodness he had left. He had taken every precaution, done everything right, and yet it hadn't saved his soul. He thought back to the holes he had sensed inside his

Castle Fanfic chapter One
I put the bloody, finger-filled napkin in my pocket, hating how it felt against my leg. It was heavy and wet and dragged my dress down on that side. I looked around and sighed. The hotel room was messier than it should have been, but my target knew some sort of martial art. He actually got my arm and shoulder pretty good. I could barely move my left arm, his sword had cut so deep. I had managed to kill him, but only after making a feint for his..uh..family jewels with one coma, and slitting his throat with the other. I hated the feel of the coma slicing through his neck, but I had to kill or be killed, though not by the people I was af

Creature-Crossing: Her Name Is Lemon
Do you see that child over there? Her name is Lemon. Look at her. Turn your gaze upon her and admire the way she runs and laughs in the darkness of the ever suffocating forest she calls her home, unaware that she is the sun torn away from her before she even formed her first word or enjoyed its light. Brilliant and overflowing with warmth that you cannot help but to be both eternally grateful for yet livid at the memory of how she entered your life. You try not to think about it, allowing her lively presence to brighten your day as she darts between the shadows of trees like a pixie playing tag and beckoning to 'catch me'. You are unsure if you can. Eyes a blinding yellow hue, sweet as sugar and reminiscent of the fruit life gave to her so she could make lemonade to quench the souls of those lacking the love she is so willing to give with every fiber of her entire being and beyond just to see you smile. It's so easy to fall for her earnest attempts to reach out to you. Whether you

How cold is cold?
She stared out the ice-laced window, as if waiting for an answer. It was the middle of the night, that time when you just knew that people were asleep. Even if the sleep was fitful, or caught up in that immature state of REM, you still just knew. Knew that you were the only one playing the part of an insomniac. Or perhaps, flirting with the likes of insomnia. Either way, the deafening stillness throbbed, and you just knew that you were alone in the world of reality. No dreams sending your witty childhood pleasures into an orgasm, no nightmares indoctrinating your se
This is just a really quick AllenxLenalee oneshot I came up with spur of the moment (keep that in mind), so I really really hope you get some enjoyment value out of it.
Quick Notes: "Nii-san" is Japanese for "older brother", and it's what Lenalee calls Komui in the anime. Also, the suffix "-kun" is often used by the Japanese when they are acknowledging people who are younger then themselves, especially boys. Lenalee also uses "-kun" at the end of Allen's name in the anime.
"Nii-san!"
With the accuracy only a seasoned exorcist could perform, Komui Lee was swatted fiercely across the face with a spatula by an apron-clad Lenalee.

Patience was, perhaps on even the worst of days, one of Kieran’s strong suits. He had spent over one hundred and thirty years waiting. Waiting for purpose. Waiting for reunions. Waiting for some kind of finality in a life that deemed him unworthy of a permanent death.
It wasn’t that he wanted to die—despite the headaches and pain of loss—he was just tired of the unending drag of living.
But he would be the first to admit that there could be some benefits to life.
He was looking at one now.

He had, of course,
Chapter 1 | Independence Day ___________________________________________________________________________________ ❝If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.❞ -Katharine Hepburn ___________________________________________________________________________________ Ice, frost, and snow swirled around the city of Gotham as the infamous villain Abominable Snowman created chaos. Roads were blocked off by walls of ice and snow swirled everywhere, creating chaos that could rival even the Joker's crimes of pandemonium—if such a thing was possible. People screamed in distress as the ice villain let his powers loose. While many people scrambled out of the street, finding sanctuary behind the line of police cars barricading the road, others weren't so lucky. A multitude of icy statues stood, displaying people frozen in time, stuck in their cold cages. The street looked like a dark version of a museum. The only difference—it was only a matter of time before hypothermia started to
